This is Revival.

This is a really interesting time that we are living in. EVERYTHING is different and nothing can be predicted. It’s a time where it easy to allow the things that God has placed in us to go dormant. It’s easy to be muted. It’s easy to feel useless and pointless.

Just sitting here thinking about how I haven’t written in months and truthfully I haven’t been inspired to write. I took an intentional break from writing but then when I tried to write again I felt like what I had to say was weak and useless. But recently a few of my brothers highlighted me in their instagram stories as a writer and as a leader of this time and something awoke within me. Them using their voices to uplift me, exposed a lie that I had allowed the enemy to trick me into believing.

Blackout Tuesday was more than a political statement about amplifying black voices, it was a spiritual movement of God amplifying the voices of his silenced children who have been told lies planted by the enemy with the face of oppression and racism.

A few months ago before everything took place with COVID-19 I had a dream that the earth was in what seemed to be utter chaos. There was a rushing, violent body of water that was crashing into and destroying earthly structures. People were dying, buildings were unrecognizable, structures were exposed, the earth as we knew it was completely in disarray. But throughout the dream God’s people were untouched, unscathed, and protected.

At first I wrote this dream off as a random dream that meant nothing, but as things unfoled I recognized that the dream I had was prophetic. God is bringing revival and the first phase of this revival is exposure. The past few months God has been exposing darkness, deceit, injustice, and oppression. Don’t be alarmed at what you’re seeing, speak up against it, but don’t loose heart. Trust, if he’s exposing it, he’s dealing with it. It’s easy to see the injustice and become angry, but be careful of not allowing your anger to lead you. Our anger should drive us to first sit with the Lord, check our hearts, and pray. Prayer has been unfortunately underestimated but I’m deeply convicted that prayer is the BEST thing we can do before we ever take any sort of action. We have to be led by the spirit. This is sensitive.

One thing I’ve been reminded of consistently during this time is that what God is doing is not just about me, it’s not just about black voices (though this a huge part of what He is doing). It’s about God’s Kingdom plan and purpose to bring everything back to himself. He is realigning, resurrecting, and restoring. Keep speaking up and keep empowering others to do the same. You never know how God is using your voice or your words to resurrect something that died in another person.  God is unmuting silenced voices in order for His will and purpose to be fulfilled on this earth as it is in heaven.

This is revival.
